Bacteriostatic Water contains 0.9% (9mg/mL) USP Grade Benzyl Alcohol added as a preservative. This allows the vial to be punctured multiple times over a 28-day period without bacterial proliferation. In contrast, unpreserved purified water contains zero preservatives and must be used immediately in a single session and any excess discarded.
